At our 23rd Annual Dinner, with
minimal effort, with no formal constitution, we dined for
the whole purpose of our existence - to chat about 'Old
Times' and relive some fairy tales, in a familiar
environment conducive to that exercise.
The
Dinner Club is open to officers who served with
6 R ANGLIAN, its associated HSF (Home Service
Force) Coys, between its formation in 1971 and
amalgamation in 1999 and officers of the East of England
Regiment from Bn HQ and Coys in Essex, Norfolk and
Suffolk.

Col
Charles Thomas TD, expressed
grateful thanks to 'Our Man in Bury St Edmunds', Capt David Pope, for the vast
amount of work involved in collating the returns,
accounting for the cash, selecting the majestic menu
(left), liasing with the caterers, obtaining the wines and
port, organising the Gate Guard and Mess Staff and
setting up the Mess during the afternoon. It is always a
privilege to 'return home' and view the glittering array
of silver as the Mess doors are opened.
Our
Hon Sec, Maj John Raybould
TD, had vigorously applied his ‘3 strikes and you are
out’. 3 officers who failed to respond for 3 years were
struck off! No names, no pack drill!
We
welcomed home from Iraq Maj Bob
Rogers, OC A (Norfolk
and Suffolk) Coy.
Lt Col Robert Goodin MBE R ANGLIAN,
at his first dinner as CO EER, presented an entertaining
and enlightening update with reference to EER soldiers on
Mobilised Service in Iraq.
